About workafro
workafro lists remote jobs that people living in Africa can actually apply for. Every role leads to the employer's own application page. It's free, and we never charge anyone.
The team behind workafro

Why we built it
Most remote job boards mix roles that are open to everyone with roles that are only open to people in one country. If you live in Lagos, Nairobi or Accra, you find out too late that you can't apply.
workafro reads each role's location and keeps only the ones that are open to people living in at least one African country. Then it shows you, in plain words, who can apply.
Where the roles come from
We read the public job boards that employers run themselves, on Ashby, BambooHR, Breezy HR, Greenhouse, Lever, Personio, Pinpoint, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters and Workable. Every Apply button leads to the employer's own application page, on the hiring system the employer uses, such as Greenhouse, Lever or Workable. Roles we find through Workable's job search link to their page on jobs.workable.com, where you apply through the employer's Workable form.
Right now we list 2,665 roles from 460 employers. The numbers change as employers open and close roles.
How we decide who can apply
- Named countries. The employer names one or more African countries, such as Kenya or Nigeria.
- African region. The employer names a region, such as East Africa or Sub-Saharan Africa, and we list the countries in it.
- Africa-wide. The employer hires anywhere in Africa.
- EMEA. The employer hires in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
- Worldwide. The employer hires anywhere.
We go by what the employer wrote. For region, Africa-wide, EMEA and worldwide roles we also read the job description, and leave a role out when it adds a rule such as "must be based in the UK". Employers sometimes change their rules, so always read the full job description before you apply.
What we never do
- We never charge job seekers or employers.
- We never ask for your CV, ID or bank details.
- We never apply for roles on your behalf.
If anyone asks you to pay to get one of these roles, it's a scam. Please tell us.
