What the numbers show
When we last checked (30 October 2026), we found 481 remote roles that name Egypt as a place you can work from. They came from 112 different employers.
That's a decent spread, but the list is top-heavy. A small group of names posted a big share of the roles, and many of them are staffing and talent agencies. Knowing who's behind each ad helps you decide where to spend your time.
Every number in this guide comes from our own scan of employer job boards on 30 October 2026. Jobs open and close every day, so treat this as a snapshot, not a promise.

Which kinds of roles
On 30 October 2026, the biggest categories among roles naming Egypt were:
- Engineering: 121 roles
- Data and AI: 65 roles
- Sales: 56 roles
- Design: 35 roles
- Marketing: 32 roles
- Operations: 19 roles
- Customer support: 18 roles
Another 75 roles didn't fit one of our main categories.
Tech leads by a long way. If you're a developer, QA engineer, data engineer or designer, you've got the most to choose from. Sales is strong too, mostly sales development roles where you contact businesses abroad by phone or email.
For beginners it's tighter. Of the 481 roles, 70 had titles that usually signal early-career work, such as intern, junior or assistant. When we checked, they included a Graphic Design Intern role at Hire Hangar and a junior account manager role for German speakers at WorkMotion. What agencies mean for you
Many of these roles come through remote staffing and talent agencies, not through the company you'd actually do the work for. Hire Hangar, Huzzle and Pavago are examples on this list. Other names may also hire for clients, and the ad doesn't always say so.
Here's how it usually works. The agency finds and screens candidates, then places you with one of its clients. You do the day-to-day work for the client, but your contract and your pay may come from the agency, or from another company that runs payroll.
That's not a bad thing. Agencies can connect you with companies you'd never find on your own. But before you sign, check these points:
- Who you'll work for. Ask for the client's name, or at least its industry and working hours.
- Who pays you. Get the name of the company on your contract and the one that sends your money. They may not be the same.
- What kind of contract it is. Ask whether you'd be an employee or a contractor. Our guide to contractor or employee explains the difference.
- How long it lasts. Several titles on this list say short term or name a fixed number of months. Know the end date and whether it can be extended.
- How you'll be paid. Currency, method and fees all matter. See getting paid from abroad.
A real agency doesn't charge you to be placed. If one asks you for money, walk away.
Roles open across Africa, EMEA and worldwide
The 481 roles above all name Egypt. They aren't the whole picture. On 30 October 2026, we also counted 447 roles open across Africa, across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) or worldwide. People living in Egypt can apply for those too.
Read the location line closely, though. "Worldwide" sometimes comes with limits on time zones, payroll countries or work permits. Our guides to EMEA remote jobs from Africa and what worldwide remote really means show what to look for.
Check the working hours as well. If a job asks for US hours, be honest about what you can cover. Our guide to time zone overlap helps you work it out.
How to apply and stay safe
- Read who can apply. Check the location line and any country list before you write a word. If Egypt isn't covered, move on.
- Apply on the employer's own page. On workafro, every Apply button goes to the employer's or agency's own job page. Don't send your CV to a WhatsApp number or a personal email that someone passed to you.
- Never pay to apply. Real employers and agencies don't charge you to apply, to train or to get equipment. If someone asks for money, stop.
- Check the employer. Open its workafro employer page, look at its other roles, and see whether the job also appears on its own careers site.
- Tailor your CV. Use words from the ad where they truly describe you. Our remote CV guide shows how.
